*gluttony (n.): habitual eating to excess
Fern Arable, daughter of John Arable and Mrs. Arable, is the courageous eight-year-old girl who saves Wilbur in the beginning of the novel.
Four words for Wilbur:
"Why did you do all this for me?" he asked. "I don't deserve it. I've never done anything for you."
"'You have been my friend," replied Charlotte. "That in itself is a tremendous thing. I wove my web for you because I like you.”
Templeton: You're a pig! Pig equals slop. The rat is happy!
Wilbur: My name's Wilbur! Do you have a name or is it just 'The Rat'?
Templeton: Did you say 'just the rat'? For your information, pig: The rat rules! We were here long before your kind and we'll be here long after. So, you just keep that in mind next time you feel like reducing me to just 'the rat'.
Wilbur: You called yourself 'The Rat'.
Templeton: I can call me that. You can't.(暗引出對於小孩來說大人的蠻不講理)
